Scouting America Merit Badge Classes

WaterWorks offers hands-on merit badge classes that connect Scouts with real-world environmental science. Our programs emphasize outdoor learning, inquiry-based activities, and meaningful engagement. Scouts don’t just complete requirements, they actively explore, test, observe, and apply what they learn in the field. As long as Scouts actively participate in the class, they will earn their merit badge and go home with a completed blue card!

FAQs

What should Scouts bring?

Answer: Please note that the Environmental Science merit badge requires a worksheet to be completed prior to attending. Scouts should also bring a water bottle, sack lunch, sun protection, bug spray, closed-toe shoes suitable for hiking, notebook/pencil, and their Scout handbook. We provide all specialized equipment and materials.

How long are the sessions?

Answer: Sessions run 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM and include lunch break. Scouts should plan for a full day of hands-on learning.

What if my Scout can’t attend their registered date?

Answer: Please contact us at least 48 hours in advance. We’ll do our best to accommodate transfers to another available date based on space availability.

Can parents stay during the session?

Answer: No. This is a drop-off program. Participants are supervised by trained staff in accordance with Scouting America two-deep leadership guidelines, and space is limited to registered participants only.
